Discover

The Program

Indibano Art Residency is a Dallas-based program dedicated to supporting contemporary African artists through immersive creative exchange.

The residency provides studio space, mentorship, and professional development while connecting artists with the Dallas arts community. The word "Indibano" translates to "a meeting place" in Northern Ndebele/Zulu.

Residents develop new work, expand their professional networks, and participate in exhibitions that foster dialogue between African artistic practices and broader cultural audiences. Established by Bukekile Dube, the program serves as a platform to revolutionize the Dallas art scene through cultural and knowledge exchange.

Our Mission

"Indibano Art Residency exists to foster dialogue between artists, curators, and cultural institutions while strengthening connections between African artistic practices and the Dallas art community."

The program serves as a platform for creative exploration, cultural exchange, and artistic development. Contemporary African art has gained recognition as a significant genre, with artists exploring themes of African identity, history, and social issues through various mediums including painting, sculpture, and photography.
